Privacy Policy

Draft v0.1 — subject to final review.

This Privacy Policy explains what Star Mirror collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We treat birth information as sensitive data and design the product to keep as little of it as possible.

1. What we collect

  • Birth information (date, approximate time if provided, birth location, and optional gender) — sensitive data you enter to generate a reading.
  • Email address — if you choose to receive a result link or create an account.
  • Guest browser identifier — a random cookie that keeps your in-progress reading reachable in this browser for about 24 hours. It contains no personal details.
  • Minimal technical logs — hashed request summaries for abuse prevention; we do not log your birth details or email in plain text.

2. How birth information is handled — three tiers

How much birth information we keep depends on your choices:

a. Guest, or no saving chosen

Your birth details are used transiently to compute the reading and are not kept as a long-term archive. The stored reading result does not contain your raw birth values.

b. Registered, without saving a birth archive

If you register but do not choose to save your birth details, we retain only a derived birth year (and the age bracket computed from it) alongside your reading. This single derived value is used strictly to position your reading on its life timeline — for example, to show which life period a pattern belongs to. It is not used for any other purpose, and you can ask for it to be deleted at any time. Your full birth date, time, and location are not stored in this tier.

c. Registered, with explicit consent to save

Only when you explicitly choose to save a birth archive do we store your full birth details, so future readings do not require re-entry. You can withdraw this consent and delete the archive at any time.

3. De-identified derived analytical material

To improve the reading system, we retain certain de-identified derived analytical material — intermediate analysis products of the rule engine and narrative models. This material contains no raw birth values and no personal identifiers, and is not linked back to your account. It is kept solely for system quality and calibration work.

4. Guest data and the 24-hour window

Readings created as a guest, and their working data, automatically expire about 24 hours after creation unless they are claimed into an account. Claiming a reading removes the expiry so you can keep it.

5. How we use your email

  • Sending you a secure link to your reading when it is ready.
  • Sending one-time verification codes for login and registration.
  • Serving as evidence of ownership: when you log in with an email, readings previously sent to that address can be recovered and claimed into your account.
  • We do not send marketing email without separate consent.

6. Your deletion rights

You can request deletion of each of the following, independently or together:

  • Conversations with the product.
  • Stored memories derived from your usage.
  • Long-term profiles and archives (including any saved birth archive or derived birth year).
  • Destiny seats and the readings attached to them.
  • Your account itself.

While in-product deletion controls are being completed, you can send any deletion request to support@starmirror.chat and we will process it manually.

7. Cookies

Star Mirror uses a small set of first-party cookies: the 24-hour rolling guest identifier described above and session cookies that keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. For material changes we will give notice inside the product or by email before they take effect.

9. Contact
